
Allison Brooks Janney, born on the 19th of November, 1959 [2] in America is an American actor. With a professional career that spans more than three decades, she has become known for her performances across diverse genres on screen and the stage. Janney has been awarded numerous awards which include an Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award and A Golden Globe Award, and seven Primetime Emmy Awards, in addition to being nominated to win two Tony Awards. The actress was raised in Boston and was raised in Dayton, Ohio, Janney earned a grant to study at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art following the completion of her studies at Kenyon College. Janney received credit for many small and rare film and television appearances through the years. Her breakthrough role as C. J. Cregg on NBC's The West Wing (1999-2006) resulted in the award of four Primetime Emmy Awards. In 2014, she won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding guest actor in the Drama Series for her role as Margaret Scully on the Showtime period drama Masters of Sex. She is most famous for her role as Bonnie Plunkett.
